Managing Performance Anxiety for Singers – Three-Week Online Class
July 6 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm$140
In this three-week online class, students will spend time understanding performance anxiety and gain tools on how to manage it in performance. Topics covered include vocal technique, breath management under stress, preventative tips and self-care, and connections to artistry. The course culminates in an optional in-class Zoom concert and is open to all levels of experience.
Instructor: Amanda Addleman
Amanda Addleman is a San Francisco-based vocalist, pianist, composer, arranger, and educator.
Addleman’s musical approach is one well-steeped in a reverence for the traditions of great jazz singers and instrumentalists of the last century. Yet her sound represents an informed departure from the tropes and fixations of earlier generations of improvisational musicians. In fusing the spirit of contemporary folk, rock, and pop composition and performance stylings, Addleman’s style blossoms with a freedom from genre restraint, while maintaining a consistent and cohesive sound that still maintains an obvious reverence for those who came before.
Her new release Into the Light is a collection of pieces contrasting the light and the dark places of Addleman’s life and career. It has received praise from critics and musicians alike and is available on all streaming services and on Bandcamp.
